Progressive Auto Group Civic Fund
Giving back to the community has always been important to the Progressive team
Since its start in 1937, the community has supported Progressive as a top car dealership serving Massillon and surrounding areas. Founder J.S. “Sandy” Sanders started the Progressive Civic Fund in the 1950s to give back to the community that helped to make Progressive successful. The fund grows larger each year and has raised more than $450,000 for the community within the last 10 years.
The Progressive Civic Fund allows Progressive employees to select charities to donate to that they are passionate about and are close to home.
A committee comprised of a representative from each department (Accounting, Body Shop, Collision Center, Parts, Sales, Service) meets annually to vote on each department’s nominations and decide which charities Progressive will support in the upcoming year.
Employees donate a small percentage from each pay period to the Progressive Civic Fund. That amount may seem small, but when all employees come together the amount really impacts the community. For example, in 2019, the Progressive Civic Fund raised $46,000 to help the community.
