Progressive Civic Fund Highlights: Refuge of Hope Ministries
Through the Progressive Civic Fund, the generous employees of Progressive Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram donated $2,250 to Refuge of Hope Ministries in 2021. This faith-based group provides shelter, meals and hope to those in need in the greater Canton, Ohio area.
The facility serves family-style meals six days a week at its location on Second Street NE in Canton. The donations of Progressive Jeep employees contributed toward the more than 67,000 hot meals served to men, women and children by Refuge of Hope last year. Refuge of Hope also provides a place to sleep, showers, clothing, and counseling for homeless men, giving them a refuge from the streets. It is the only shelter of its kind in Stark County, and its mission is to address poverty, homelessness, and hunger in our community.
The giving continues this year and every year through the Progressive Civic Fund, a tradition begun in the 1950s by the founder of the Progressive Auto Group, J.S. “Sandy” Sanders. More than $450,000 has been raised over the years by Progressive employees, whose dedication and commitment to our community is clearly reflected in their ongoing generosity. We couldn’t be prouder of our team, and we owe it all to our loyal customers. Your continuing support enables us to give back to our community, build strong relationships, and help those among us in need.
